Mosier
Community School
is a charter school with a four year charter agreement through
Chenowith School District. The school has its own school board
made up of parents and community volunteers. We offer classes from
K through 6th Grade. Kindergarten
next year will be a 4 day program from Mon. - Thursday. Third,
Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grade Curriculums include Spanish, Music,
Literature, Creative Writing, Art and Computers as well as the
core curriculum. Our mission is to keep classes
small.
Mosier school board, administrators and teachers have selected the following priorities for their school: a multiage learning environment to allow children to flex their various skill levels; incorporate themes across a broad spectrum of subjects; focus on core subjects in the morning hours; and in the afternoon, focus on Spanish, science, music art and computer classes.
CLASS CONFIGURATION
The MCS philosophy is to create classes that are not just age specific.
Our goal is to have classrooms that have blended classes to help all the
students learn in a thriving environment. Studies have shown that students
lose up to 6 weeks of education each year when faced with a new teacher
and environment.
Kindergarten - a stand alone class
Primary class – Blended 1st and 2nd grade – there will be
two separate Primary classes
Junior class – Blended 3rd and 4th
