A non-denominational Christian based group. "Learning in Family Environments" meets once a month for "Mom's Meetings"; childcare is provided for a nominal fee. During these meetings we plan out field trips; have an educational spotlight (example: child development) and discuss upcoming events; form committees to work on those events; and end with a "healthy" snack and visit time. We coordinate swimming lessons (open to all homeschooling families in the gorge). In the past we have coordinated spelling bees; science/art fairs; history fairs; and numerous classes and field trips. In the summer we have a hiking club that tries to meet every other week. In addition to all this we have a lending library and mentor program. Contact for the group: Lynne Welch - lwelch@gorge.net
We are a non-religion based group of families who unschool, follow classical education, and everything in between. We meet every Tuesday from 12:00 to 3:00. In the summer and fall, we meet in Oak Grove Park. From late October to April we meet in the Underwood Grange hall. We plan field trips, hold classes, and informally exchange ideas and materials.
